Information for Second Adults at Campouts

The second adult on a campout is responsible for:

  1. Being at the sign up meeting and gathering the list of Scouts who will be attending.
  2. Emailing list for confirmation or addition? If necessary, assigns patrols.
  3. Securing adequate transportation. Seeing to it that an appropriate number of vans are picked up before the outing and returned to Isaacson's Construction parking lot. Soliciting additional drivers if necessary.
  4. Organize scouts into patrols for each campout, trying to utilize existing patrols as much as possible.
  5. Ensure each patrol has a designated quartermaster for each campout.
  6. Providing meals for the Grumpy Old Folks adult patrol.
  7. Collecting money and/or identifying payment options such as Scout accounts.
  8. Collecting receipts from those who have bought food or experienced other expenses related to the outing.
  9. Keeping track of all expenses prior to and during the trip. Submitting a listing of expenses along with the receipts to the Treasurer by the next week.
  10. Making certain all boys have transportation home upon return from a trip.
  11. Submitting a listing of all attendees (can email) to the Treasurer for billing purposes and to the Scoutmaster for the camping report.
  12. Submitting a listing of all attendees (can email) to the Advancement Chair when patches or awards are involved.
