Service

We are Serious about Service

Service to others is one of the pillars of Scouting, and Troop 19 has embraced this belief.

The troop itself has adopted part of the Constitution Trail, and each month one patrol is responsible for keeping that stretch garbage and litter free. In addition, each patrol spends one meeting every three months on a service project.

Although we are active all year around in giving back to the community, December is an especially busy time. The troop marches in the annual Christmas Parade handing out ribbons on behalf of Mothers against drunk driving, spends a morning delivering gifts on behalf of WJBC's brotherhood tree, has a Christmas party for senior citizens at Westminster Village, rung bells for the Salvation Army, and, with members of the crew, prepare and serve a meal at the Home Sweet Home Mission.

During the year, Scouts from troop 19 can be seen at can drives, assisting at events of our sponsoring organization, and doing other good turns in the community.
